I am so excited to announce my first group retreat in Rishikesh, one of my all-time favourite Indian destinations! Set in the stunning foothills of the Himalayas on the banks of the sacred Ganges River, the city has been home to rishis, gurus and spiritual masters of India for centuries. It is known as the yoga capital of the world, attracting spiritual seekers and yogis from around the globe and is a totally vegetarian and alcohol-free city.

 

In this holy town, where ancient sages and saints have meditated in search of higher knowledge, we will embark on a joy-ful journey into our experience of ourselves as divine. Paramahansa Yogananda said: “If you go to places where masters have lived, the vibrations there will quicken your realization. That is the value of pilgrimages to holy places. The masters’ divine vibrations are still there, just as strong as when they were physically present. Those who are in tune will feel that presence.”

 

This is a journey to awaken our potential to be a 'Frequency Keeper' for our planet and people. Through our awakening to our true selves - that which the gurus call self-realization - we learn how to maintain a higher frequency for longer periods of time, thereby embodying our wise, beautiful, radiant Higher Selves.

 

Our retreat hotel, divinely located right on the banks of the sacred Ganges, is not luxury - it is simple but comfortable. I chose it because of its amazing location, reasonable prices that enable me to keep the retreat cost low, and the fact that we can book the entire space. I also prefer to share with you a genuine Indian experience in Indian-run accommodation rather than choosing an expensive foreign chain hotel. Our daily schedule will be a mixture of spiritual practise, either in our private yoga room or in nature, on the banks of Mother Ganga. Plus nature walks, relaxation, healing and fun trips to the most interesting and beautiful local temples, waterfalls, ashrams, markets and ceremonies. 7 - 9am: Sunrise sun-gazing, yoga-stretch-dance flow, pranayama, Babaji's Kriya, guided and silent meditation

9am: Breakfast 

10am - 2pm: free time for optional Ayruvedic massages or treatments, swimming, relaxing, nature walks, shopping and free-form lunch in one of the colourful local cafes

2 - 5pm: Group visits to the temples, sacred sites or beautiful nature spots of Rishikesh

5.30 - 7.30pm: Sunset pranayama, mantra singing, Kriya, meditation & guidance

7.30pm: Dinner & star-gazing

8 - 12 February - Babaji Cave Pilgrimage

 

This is a non-profit part of the journey for me - Gino and I will make the pilgrimage with a guide - and you are welcome to join us! It is an optional journey to Babaji's Cave, the actual cave where ​Lahiri Mahasaya received initiation from Babaji into the Kriya techniques for awakening, thereby initiating one of the most powerful lineages of mastery our planet has ever known. ​
We are choosing a 4-night option, but it is also possible to take a tour to the cave over 2 nights or 3 nights if you don't have the time. I prefer to break up the journey and spend more time in the very special energy of these mountains. No need to say if you will join or not now -  more details will be provided soon.
This journey is not for the faint-hearted! We will stay in simple hotels and our journey by bus, 4 or 5 hours travelling per day, will sometimes be up steep inclines. It will also be colder as the altitudes increase - woolly socks & hats needed!
